Clownmeat's build thread

Ok, so I was looking to see how a guy who started his build thread on 10-11-2011 already has 28 pages, WOW!

I just read every page and I feel like my 4runner is so normal now LOL

Paddle shifters? Turbo'd Runners? Clownmeat is proof that if you want something bad enough and you are a FN genius you can do whatever you want! LOL

I know seriously. I started my thread like 1.5 years ago and its like 5 pages long haha. But I dont have a turbo charger, paddle shifters, and a horn that would make a deaf person crap their pants

hey if you need a gunner... im not doing anything right now and was a gunner on a .50cal over in iraq, i would gladly volunteer for this mission

Thats pretty cool the kid. I have a bunch of army friends. You guys are all crazy haha. Im in the "Chair" National Guard myself.

Us 11b guys are a little crazy at times and can get a little sick as well lol... Been thinking about jumping ship and going 18x(d/b) but idk the "having a family" is not so conducive to that life... I just don't know if I would do well with it or not.

A little more progress. There is also a pot to dim the shift indicator LED's.

Just wanted to make a little documentation here about the turbo build because there was some scepticism on building a turbo system for only $800. I have had lots of messages, emails, and pm's regarding this from here, youtube and other forums I post on. So it's been about 5 months now and performs flawless (so far) everyday, and I try to abuse it everyday. No complaints or problems yet including: no oil consumption, oil leaks, no detonation/pinging, increased fuel mileage, nothing broken, and it hasn't blown up yet.

Haven't been easy on it either and I still drive like this everyday, except it's on pavement during the week.

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/b4jOTgrhKrk?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/b4jOTgrhKrk?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>

So it's done besides everything being in a temporary enclosure (don't hate on the pill box, I said temporary). The board works, the logic works, the dimmer works, it should shift gears, so it shouldn't be long until it can see it's first real test drive.

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/B2_v3mnZ9Ko?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/B2_v3mnZ9Ko?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>

Stay tuned...

COMING SOON!!!

Clownmeats next mod...

...His paddle shifting turbo 4runner will now convert into a space shuttle and take the first humans to Mars and back!

So Im pretty sure Ive asked this before, but . . . have you ever considered doing a "How to build a custom 3rd gen 4runner turbo system for dummies" writeup. Im pretty sure you would be an instant forum legend. I mean you wouldnt have to give it that exact title or anything . . .

I pretty much covered all the steps in my build thread, I guess I could compile everything together just haven't had the time. Also there are so many different ways to do it, it's kind of just a guideline in a way. Feel free to ask any questions though, it's a pretty basic system.

Just curious. I know that Subaru's have that feature and thought it might be cool to add in.

The idea was to make the automatic trans completely manual controlled, that's why something like that wasn't implemented. It will not shift up or down or kickdown into passing gear or anything unless I tell it to.

That is so awesome! is it bad that I want a paddle shifter in mine and I have a manual! LOL

ohh, you think u could do a push button ignition? I wonder how I could have a push button ignition and keep people from stealing my truck?
