Clownmeat's build thread

Got it a bit sideways at lunch, spooky feeling with no swaybars, probably shouldn't be doing that on pavement so it doesn't end up on its lid.

Like a good pusher, you have me addicted. I need more!!!

Sweet build by the way. Do you anticipate needing fuel mods with the turbo?

Thanks,

I did anticipate fuel mods, but so far so good according to my wideband, spark plugs, and ears. So in my case I have to agree with TRD that the stock fuel system can handle 7psi no prob.

Layed Eyes on it..... WOW

What's up Clownmeat,

I appreciate you taking the time today to show me your rig. Based on the photos and vid I knew it was going to be cool. But when you rolled up with the turbo singing, I was like a moth drawn to the flame. lol That blew me away. Really, it is frick'in awesome guy's, I still can't get the smile off my face.

I immediately called 8sm and told him to get ready, without hesitation he said " Let's do it " LOL

Without a doubt, Clownmeat is such a stand up guy as well as Yoterman87 they are good people.

By the way, Yoterman87 your Red 4Runner is sweet it's gonna look awesome after the lift install this weekend.

I hope we can get together again soon.

Thanks again guys........LuDog

At lunch my friend took a short video with his droid just for fun. I will try to get real video in the near future with some 4low action. You can tell there isn't much lag though, when you want to go it goes. It's a 30psi gauge so where it stops at like 3k rpm its at 7psi already. I like the part where I pass the suzuki xl-7 and you can hear the wastegate doing its thing. Still no exhaust/downpipe yet.

Did you punch just after you made it through the turn?

It seams like pretty impressive power but it seams that you have to pretty wide open to really harness the power.

How will she be on the trail?

Punched it at about 10 secdonds. It should do great off road having around 50hp more and because there will be a load on the engine climbing hills and rocks. Don't really have to open it up to harness the power, I can power brake it and make boost at 1200rpm at zero mph until it starts spinning the tires anyway.

speaking of tires, how do you like those yoks? i have been eyeing them for some time, another user on here (Glen Yoshida) runs them. ive been eyeing the new good year MTRs and nitto trail grapplers as well. what sold you on the yoks over others? and what others where you thinking of when you got tires?

Love em. Just from reading reviews, good on the rocks and mud, had good tread life, directional self cleaning design, very quiet even at highway speeds, the price was right, good all around MT, and if nothing else they look tough. Put the yoko AT's on my wife's 97 4runner.

I saw this concept on Truck Power Block TV. Interesting concept. If I wasnt in the rust belt I would considerate it. Im not familiar with turbo systems, but I cant imagine the components being happy with salt. I also wouldnt put any type of lift on my truck to install it either

Very cool project man! My buddy keeps trying to convince me to do an underhood turbo.....but I'm not so sure how that would work out! This is coming along great though!
