Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder

So I looked around on the site a little and didn't find much info... I am still learning how to search this site though... TONS of info. I am replacing a leaky clutch master cylinder and figured I would go ahead and do the slave cylinder at the same time.... BUT.... there are many different brands etc out there... some are cheaper... some are more expensive.

What makes an Aisin or a Beck Arnley or a Duralast or any other type of slave or master cylinders have such different cost??

By the way... I am all about putting the best on my rig if it is built better and will last longer... but when you see a master that cost $18 verses one that cost $60... makes you wonder. Any comments or help or experience would be awesome!! Thanks!!! Jeremy

Normally they all have lifetime or at least very good warranties. Buy the cheap one and be done with it. There aren't any differences really.

I popped for the Aisen Master off of Parts Train about a month ago. Nice quality for the price($30) and has worked perfectly since. Only issue was the stock version had through holes that slid on to the stock threaded mounting studs, the Aisen had threaded studs mounted to it so I removed those and drilled out the holes so they would clearance the stock studs mounted to the firewall and bolted it on. Easy fix.

Thanks for the site suggestion! Its always good to have multiple sites to look up parts. I was actually looking on one called autopartsnerd.com. They have some decent deals too. I usually check out Ebay also. Did either of you do your slave cylinder at the same time as your master?

yes, its a good idea to change them both at the same time.

I havent had any clutch hydraulic issues in a long time.

but, back when I first got my truck, I went through 3 parts store MC's before I decided to just get it from the dealer.
that was more than 10 years ago.
I swapped an auto into that truck after 5-6 years, and kept the parts. a few years later I swapped them onto my 4runner. they are still on there. well worth the $60...

Mine is leaking, very very slowly, dripping more like it... into the cab. So I know I need a new one. Sounds like anything will work... but I definitely am the kind of person who likes to pay a little now to save a lot (even hassle) later. So would the Toyota dealership sell me a "Toyota" brand or would be an Aisin?
