Code P0430 on 2003 SR5

So I just bought a 2003 SR5 with 67,000 miles on it. After driving for about 20 miles the check engine light came on with the code P0430. I have been told this could be O2 sensors (passenger side I believe) or the cadillac converter, is there an easy way to diagnose which it is?
I had to replace the brakes, rotors and tires already and after paying for the vehicle I am strapped for money at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First and foremost, congratulations on your purchase and welcome to T4R.org

Did you purchase this from a private party or a dealership? any warranty? Is this the only code showing up?

PS: have you tried to get temp/test readings on the Catalytic Converter ?

You could potentially swap the sensors from one side to the other one, to see if it's the sensor or the Cat itself.. That way you can be sure you are spending money on the correct part, and not throwing money/parts at it.

edit, I just checked your part numbers and they are different, so that idea is out the window..



PS: Does anyone else find it Slow to navigate from thread to thread or is it just me? The other sites, are blazing fast by comparison..

There is no warranty, I bought it from an Auto Shop that has a small dealership lot.
That is the only code that came up when the brake/tire shop ran it. The trac lights are on as well but I read that those come on whenever the engine light does.
At first we thought it was the gas cap because it was on weird but the light came on again after we cleared the codes.

I haven't tried any readings on it yet. I was being told so many different things, I didn't know where to start besides spending money on a dealership diagnostic.
