Codes p0121 and p0123

Looking to see if anyone has has experience with either of these two codes. Replaced the starter on my 04 v8 4Runner, went to start it up and surged for a few seconds and the cel came on. Checked my codes and I have the p0121 and p0123, both for the throttle position sensor. Car was running fine before I took off the Intake Manifold to replace starter.

I will be tracing all my electrical to make sure I didn't cut a wire. I checked all the connections and everything looks fine.

You didn't mess with the throttle blade when you had it plugged in did you? i.e. with the ignition on/engine off play with the throttle blade? Doing so can potentially damage the unit.

Additionally if you had the ignition on by accident with the throttle body disconnected you might get those codes. Unfortunately you're gonna have to verify it one way or the other as if it wasn't something accidental/temporary it could mean an issue with the throttle body itself.

Before I started I disconnected the battery. I did mess with the blade but the battery had been disconnected atleast 20 minutes, and I believe the Tps was unplugged, but the key was definetly not on. I checked the 5 wires on the plug to ground for a short and the third one from the top is grounded, not sure if it should be normally. Will look for a schematic now to look for a short before I buy a new throttle body as it appear the Tps, and throttle body is one unit.

Clean the throttle body very good with the key off, disconnect the battery for about 5~10minutes, then reconnect it and let it idle without any loads for about 5mins. Maybe it relearned idle funky and is setting oddball codes? Worth a shot if you don't have a scantool to really look at the datalists with.
