Coil wiring color and signals

Hi,
From what I've seen, coils typically have three wires - power/ground/signal (from ECU, to tell the coil to fire)
So I'm interested what are two wires on coil connectors on our cars ? Signal/ground, power/signal, ground/signal, power/ground or what ? And which one is which color.

The 5vz coils are 'dumb' coils. 2 wires. Power and switching. They are driven by a separate igniter module on the passenger side inner fender. They are 'wasted spark' so each ignition even drives two cylinders - on just finishing compression and one just finishing exhaust strokes.

Yes, I know that these engines are wasted spark. So they get only power/signal ? Which wire is which ?

Black-Red is Power. Depending on year, the 'pull down' side colors change.
