coilovers for leveling

Considering coilovers to level the truck and saving the rear coil upgrade for when I'm ready for new (bigger) tires. I realize this is the most expensive way to level but it gets me half way to the lift I will eventually want and hopefully provides a better ride in the meantime. Does the ride quality change much depending on the height adjustment? Anyone else running coilovers with stock rear springs that can provide feedback?

Although this never got answered I'm also thinking of doing this with uca's. And saving the rear for later on down the road when my tires are worn

You can not go wrong with this option. Coilovers set at a lower lift adjustment will provide a less stiff ride since your front suspension will have less pre-load. I have my front Coilovers set at 3" and they ride perfectly fine for my liking. But, I don't mind a truck like ride. It is in no way harsh.

I actually think your line of thinking is smart. With my 98 Tacoma, I went through several lift combos only to settle on Coilovers in the end. If you have the money for Coilovers now, you will definitely be happy with them. Then, the only thing standing in the way of a full lift in the end is a rear lift, adjustment of the front lift, and another alignment.

The best decision is the one that wastes the least amount of time and money. In this case I think you're wise to go straight for the coil overs, provided you will actually need them down the road. I'm not a fan of spacers, but for those who only want a lift as a means to run bigger wheels/tires and don't plan to off-road, it's not a bad way to go.
