Okay guys do you really think the K&N is really worth it. its supposed to increase the ponies by 14.

i wanna know if its worth it, these cold air intakes are kind of just a fad right know. and is their one out there you guys would suggest over K&N? (besides Volant)

If you think about it its sits right over the manifold so its going to bring in more warm air then cold unless its 20 degrees outside......

I would like to know if these r any good for 2nd gen 4runners as I am looking into buying one. and yes it is 20 degrees in Michigan right now :gaptooth:

If you look at your stock T4R you will find that it already has the intake
air drawn from behind the front grill(cold air).

All the after market systems get the air from under the hood(warm-hot).

If you want a good way to waste your money go right ahead.

Cliff what make are you talking about

I'll post before and after's

The K&N is awsome and it is blocked off from any warm air from the engine compartment by a sheild.

It definately increased the sound, as well as performance. I'm trying to post everything here:

Can't duplicate pics so heres the before pic, the after pic is on the other post

This is without the engine cover so you can see how much more heat is sucked into the surface area of the Massive filter system that the v6 uses, its ridiculosly big, the K&N gets rid of most of the plastic.

Enjoy

Here's one without the massive stock

system.

It easily took off 15 lbs of weight from the runner too.

Its straightens out the intake path and is WAY less restrictive, as a result it sounds awsome under acceleration but K&N did there homework because you can't hear it at highway speeds.
