Cold/heat kicks on high

So for about 4 months my a/c just kicks on automatically. I've made sure the auto button is off, but still will kick on.

I just have to keep pressing the off button till it will turn off. I was wondering if anyone had had this issue and what u might need to do to fix it. I'm guessing I just will need to replace the ac control unit but I figured I'd check with you all first.

I've got the same issue with my 2000 limited...kinda forgot about it til I read your post...no fix yet.

I'm pretty its its not but I'd be pissed if that was the reason haha.

AC always kicks on with the defroster. You can unplug the compressor in the winter if you'd like.

Yeah no it wasn't on. So something is causing it to kick on high. Just sucks cause it's repeatedly and sometimes it happens a few times, or ten haha

In addition to the problem you mentioned I also have issues with the temp knob sometimes not working right. I'm going to try the following, based on the thread referenced above:
1. Remove the controller unit, take it apart, clean with contact cleaner.
2. If cleaning doesn't work, I'm going to go over each connection with a soldering iron as mentioned in that thread.

I won't have time to monkey with it for a week or two, already have higher priority stuff I've got to do with it first.

If you happen to try either, I'd appreciate you posting your results...I'll do the same once I have a chance to work on it.
