Colgan Bra on a 5th Gen

With our impending move I decided to order a car bra to help keep the front end in decent shape. I ended up getting the full bra which covers the front and most of the hood and also ordered the covers for the side mirrors.

The first pic is just the hood piece, which I thought looked pretty good on its own. The second pic is the full bra. It looks okay but not quite my cup o' tea... it will serve it's purpose though. I need to get some better pics of the mirror covers.

Kind of makes it look like one of those "top secret" test vehicles the Toyota engineers are testing

I agree though the full front makes it look like a little bit too much, sure will be handy on a long road trip though!

Wow....I know its not right to dive into threads and say stuff like this...but that is absolutely hideous. For the purpose of road trip protection though, hell yeah it will work!

Great coverage for sure with that kit, should hold up very well. You can also get non-blue painters tape to cover up any of the exposed areas. The photo with the full bra kit reminds me of Bane.

Here are some pictures of my 4Runner with it on. I screwed up in few spots but I can always remove it and do it again. It's completely transparent and ceahp about $25.00.

FWIW, I tried your approach with my 350Z (used to commute between FL and NC weekly) and the accumulated nicks and scratches culminated in a quote for a $2800 paint job. Luckily my cousin managed to get his shop to fix the issues and blend it at cost, so only around $700 out of pocket. I imagine trying that with BP would be next to impossible.

I have the same exact bra. Purchased it for road trips and has come in real handy, keeping away rocks from chipping at the hood. Sucks first road trip I put it on, and rock hit the windshield and cracked it. But the hood was ok.

I will say this though. Recently on a 6-hour trip from So. Cal to Nor. Cal, about 4 hours into the trip it got really windy, and that bra was flapping quite hard (the top piece) making my hood vibrate like crazy. Pulled over and just took it off. It is snug, but all it needs is just a little air between bra and hood to elevate and in a windy situation it literally looked like a parachute on my hood. So it did fail me on that trip. :happens: Lets hope it doesn't happen again.

Good to know - thanks for the heads up! I'll keep an eye on it. I'll be rocking a 26' Penske and my wife will be following me in the Hannibal, so hopefully she'll learn to draft pretty quickly.
