Not exactly a great opening weekend for the SEC. We went 7-7 which hasn't happened since 1992. However, there were more games against ranked opponents than there have been in some time.
Dawgs pulled off a decent win against UNC, but we've got a lot of green guys and need a lot of improvement. Chubb looks great and Eason will be unstoppable in a year or so. Growing pains aside, I think we're on the right track.

So awesome! I didn't remember anything when you mentioned it, but when I started watching the link and saw the footage of the chains and distance, I instantly remembered that play.

Pretty clear ESPN and the media in general are sick of the SEC. (except Bama)
And it was great to see Chubb back on the field. There isn't a single Vol fan that didn't cringe last year in Neyland. We almost feel guilty that his injury happened on our turf.

Yep, but I don't think the SEC is ready to lay down just yet. (I know Bama isn't)
Chubb is a miracle. I don't know of anyone who wouldn't cringe when watching that knee. It's football and bad things happen and sometimes it's nobody's fault. I think that y'all might have a fight on your hands this year, but no hard feelings about that injury. We're all just happy to have him back healthy!

Been waiting 4 years for us to make 2nd half adjustments. Finally paid off. 4th quarter we looked unstoppable. So glad I flew back to Knoxville for the game!

We went through a similar departure last year and some of our fanbase is finally seeing the reality - that it's a tough deal. It comes down to what you're willing to do as a HC. If you don't adapt to what's happening today and make the numbers that the fans demand, you're out.

Honestly, I think Orgeron is your guy. He didn't do great at Ole Miss as HC, but he loves LSU and his passion is contagious.
SEC fans demand instant satisfaction. It's just crazy so many awesome coaches have been fired in the past year with great records. One bad year = hot seat.

Firing Miles was a mistake. He was loved by the players and most of the fans. And his record speaks for itself. Losing John Chavis to A&M was hard. I wonder if this is a SEC repeat of the Vols firing Phil Fulmer? Jimbo Fisher isn't the answer.
Why though Miles kept Cam Cameron on as OC the past couple of years is beyond me. I wouldn't let that guy coach a Pee Wee offense. The only shining point of his coaching resume is as OC in San Diego when they had LT, Rivers in his prime, and a good defense. With that offensive talent I could have called offensive plays and looked like a football genius.

This is true. I don't think Cameron was to blame for the offense. We saw basically the same deficiencies in the offense before he was here.
I love Les Miles as a person and coach. I just think he couldn't keep his hands out of the offensive cookie jar and it cost him.
Well, if a coach has a top 5/6 recruiting class every year, the team should probably finish in the top 5 most years. It was frustrating to watch year in and year out. I'm not a huge LSU fan, but with the amount of money the university spends on the program they expect better results.

Sad to see a well respected and well liked coach like Les Miles lose his job. Granted, he has made critical clock management mistakes during big games, but good luck finding a coach who will consistently bring you 8 win seasons. Time will tell.
As for my Ducks, well, it looks like dark time are upon us. We all knew a day would come when we have a down season, but it's disappointing how we appear to be lacking serious leadership. I hope our guys find success, but we have very little talent, especially on defense.
