Color matched grill + plate bracket

I just put a few small dabs of clear slicone on it , after finally getting it to stay on I let it sit overnight. And was carefull When I put the bracket back on.

Not sure my question was clear, I am talking about the circled part. What type of gasket did you use?

There's no gasket, it's part of the frame.

The plate holder is different from the 97 and 99-01 isn't it?
That would explain why mine doesn't look like that.

1996-1998 have the thinner one with 4Runner in the center.

1999-2002 have the one pictured above.

That looks really good! Nice work. I've been giving some serious thought to painting my plate frame as it has some peeling issues. Now I'll have to decide if I want to deal with what seems to be a major pain in the ass to get it off. Hmmmm.....

thanks man, I didnt even think about the 99-02 bracket being diffrent when you first asked.

It was a pain but was well worth it for me, mine was beat .
