Colorado BS thread

At Bethoud from 9-2. deep, dry. What a wonderful day. One of my best ski days, ever. What a lucky man I am.
I get to hut tripping Mon-Wed.
Joy joy.

That's a gnarly layer of hoar to be receiving fresh snow on. Beautiful, but so dangerous.
It went from level 1 to level 3 with the snow down this way as well.
Stay safe as well bud.

I recently bought a plow attachment for my quad, because I got sick and tired trying to back a trailer with my FJ on it into my driveway in the cul-de-sac when everything was snowed over and iced up. So after a prolonged snowfall, and on mornings I'm not working, I run the quad thru the cul-de-sac and along the sidewalk. Takes like 15 minutes, max.

My neighbors, who are from Cali, still don't have snow tires on their Prius (how they get up the subdivision roads which are a quarter mile of ice up an 8% grade is a mystery) woke my ass up at 7 this morning pounding on the door and asking why I haven't plowed the cul-de-sac.

Really?

lol... wtf

You know I was thinking about getting a quad and plow attachment. The city here seems to have very little interest in clearing the neighborhood streets most of the time, unless it leads to a school. But then I figured people might b!tch if they are parked in the road or if I slack off.

If I were you, I wouldn't have said a word and just closed the door on them.

I picked someone up from DIA today and didn't see a single wreck or even any snow on the road on Northwest Parkway and 470.

Hope some of you guys made it to the slopes this weekend. Its been 13 years since we had a storm reported at 26"... the skiing was all-time bomber!

Took the wife to Breckenridge to teach her snowboarding.

She's a small thing and crashed and completely disappeared into a giant snow mogul.

One of us thought it was hilarious.

Dang that thing is huge, sorry.

So I went today. It was fun, except it was for American made cars and I don't have any of those. I did find something that made it totally worth going!!

Today at Berthoud. All the way up, north across the ridge, drop in at X, ski dry fresh. Windy, gusty, good times.

That looks pretty wind scoured, but be careful up there man. Its been a really shitty week for avalanche fatalities. I'm hoping you have the gear, training, and a solid group to ski with?

Man that's awesome. I know the ranchers don't want them, but they help trim the Deer and Elk herds of the sick and excess numbers, ultimately keeping them healthier. Its good to see them around if you ask me.

That reminds me- I spotted this Bald Eagle sitting on the bank of the river the other day, watching for fish. Talk about a stone cold predator.

My Cali neighbors had some nasty little yappy dog they kept letting out.

I kept telling them owls/hawks/eagles would get him.

Yesterday they did.
