Colorado Members. Trail/Camping Recommendations

How's it going everyone?

I've lived in Colorado since the 7th grade(with the exception of 4 years when I was in the Marine Corps, and I'm almost 26 now), but I never really went camping, other then around my house at my parents house in the Foothills near Golden.

Well, I recently have had the itch to start camping/exploring more, and with my newly acquired 4Runner, I'd love some opinions on cool spots to check out, that I can drive into, and camp out, hangout with my pup, enjoy the scenery...etc. I don't care about fishing really, but I do love the scenery that lakes provide.

I don't need/want the trails to be too tough, as my truck is mostly stock for now(hope to start changing that however).

Just looking to be pointed in the right direction! Thanks!

I prefer the western slope of CO but I'm biased. Check out the alpine loop in the San Juans. 1 of the most awesome trails I've driven and can be done with a stock truck in good weather.

Just head into the mountains and start going up some dirt roads. There's lots of trails around Blackhawk and near Rollinsville. Most of the stuff on the eastern slope can be done with a stock rig without issue in the summer.
