Compression, Fuel and Spark but no start?

I have been working on a 2000 4runner 3.4 I bought as a second 4runner project and this thing has had nothing but issues.

A few weeks ago I threw P0171 and the vehicle was having erratic running issues. Then out of no where I had lost 70% of the power but the motor was running and idling fine with no CEL but just significantly down on power. After tinkering with the truck checking for spark, compression and fuel the truck hesitated to start then backfired and ran great for 2 days. Now this morning when I went outside I can not get it to start. Turns over, smell of gas from flooding was apparent but it will not even start. No CEL when i scanned it.

I am at a total loss any ideas?

Where are you checking for spark at?

the plug itself, front driver side I believe it is cylinder 4

Check the maf cause if you are get air fuel and spark your engine should start

MAF is fine - I just replaced it on my 99 and swapped it over. Same issue

Bad fuel? mine freaked out a few weeks ago for no reason too

That actually is a good possibility - last time I filled it up was when we had that big rainstorm a few weeks back. Now were to get rid of around 8 gallons of gas, lol.

You can get a fuel treatment that will help get rid of water... dont know how well it works. That rain was crazy, and thats when mine acted up as well.
