Considering selling. Need help with pricing...

I'm thinking about selling my 2012 4Runner. It's sort of a work in progress except not much progress has been made.

What should I be looking to get for it in the current condition? I've just added the front tube bumper (no winch yet). Haven't decided what to do for the rear bumper.

I looked up the "fair" pricing on KBB and it looks the value should be in the 10-12k range, but am not sure where "missing body parts" fits into those preset pricing conditions.

You have significant body damage, missing front and rear bumpers and missing rocker panels.

And that is only what we can see from this photo. It looks like an accident vehicle that was pieced together using incorrect parts by somebody that had no clue about what they were doing. The taillight fitment is a joke.

You either need to fix it properly and hope that you get anything close to KBB or sell it as a parts/project vehicle as is for a couple of grand.

Say what? The OP says that KBB is 10-12k and it needs at least $5-8k in visible work.

Keep in mind GENERALLY having a vehicle that is modified in any way greatly decreases your field of potential buyers. I had a very nice, absolutely mint mint mint mint 05 tacoma double cab with a correctly done 2" suspension lift, slightly larger tires and wheels, a nice aftermarket stereo, correctly wired off road lights, etc. that took me 6 months to sell for low retail for a stock one a few years back. And I have found the same to be true for the last 25 years. I have modified all but 2 of the 17 Toyota 4x4's that I have owned. Only ones where mods didn't hurt the value were the 2 FJ40's.

The quarter damage is a minimum of a grand to fix at a hole in the wall body shop. My shop wouldn't touch it for less than double that. missing bumper, missing rockers... I would price it at 9 and hope for 8500 honestly. Assuming it's not crazy low mileage or something.

I'm always embarrassed to admit I paid 25k for mine in 2018 but it was a CPO with only 35k miles. And it was exactly what I wanted down to the color.

Like everyone else said, with this much damage and work needed to restore it back to factory, it's going to cost a pretty penny and thus will result in less money earned back from the sale on your end.

You're better off having it repaired and eat some of your losses or straight up part everything out for maximum value you can get out of these parts.
