Console Mod Question

For those of you that have done the console mod; If you get the brackets that the console and e-brake mount to from the donor vehicle, is it a straight bolt in mod or do you still have to drill and tap and bend brackets?

I've read through the console mod threads and didn't really see an answer to this, might have missed it.

What have you guys paid for your salvaged consoles?

I have a 97 Limited and am perfectly happy with the default console.

Have you posted a "wanted" ad in the Classified section? There are several guys on this site with donor vehicles sitting in their driveway. They may not want to go through all the trouble of doing a full "part-out" but when they see your ad, you might get contacted.

From what I understand if you swap out the 99 e brake handle with the older style ones you don't have to drill new holes but you do have to bend the bracket still.

I havent done it but I have a console in my garage waiting to go in and I briefly read through some of the threads last night.
