Anyone? Glove box bulb size help?
I don't think my 2012 SR5 does have any light in glow box. If it does than the bulb must be burned out but I can't find it because it dark over there :jump:
Turn your lights on and you should see a sickly orange glow.
Oh, that "orange glow". This is LED not a bulb.
In the glove?? Cuz that thing looks halogen.....
Before you tear it up put your finger to it - is it hot like incandescent? In my 2012 SR5 it is cold, yellow, and really dim. Ergo: it is LED :naughty:
Symbol used on the factory diagram it confirms my theory. But this is what I have - maybe in Canada they put halogen it there.
Plugged one in a no problem, went to plug the other in and nothing, flipped it (polarity) and nothing, went to put the original bulbs back in and nothing...Is it possible I blew a fuse? Would it effect only that light?
Would you believe my lady pushed the visor forward to the windshield and I never pulled it back to complete the circuit.
Will investigate further tonight...... But if it is then it looks like I'll have to do a light mod :/
Alas tis LED.....
BTW IMHO completely useless, especially for guys with glow compartment organizer.
Just keep in mind that if you want to put something like led strip in the glow compartment you need to come up with some kind of door switch (there is none in there now).
Seems the best economical solution might be a "rewired" 4 pin trailer light extension cord. I had to get a 4 pin extension to get power to the short lead on the Bully CR-007A.
If an extension were wired so that when plugged into the trailer connector and Bully, the Bully bulb brake light function were on when the tail lights are on, that would give the desired brightness. And the brake light wire(s) on the extension not powered when braking. Then just use the brightest red LED 1157 I can find to reduce current/heat from the incandescent brake light. LED might be necessary with the brake light on continuously with tail lights.
This would also allow the "cheap" Bully to be periodically replaced when needed with no further mods.
So any ideas on the rewire?? And I'll check out the custom site.
