Continuous power to rear hatch

It seems I do not have e continuous power for the lock or window to work with the fob. I can hit the windows button but get just a beep, and the unlock just doesn't work unless the car is on. What could that be?

If the window and lock works with the button on your dash and door master switch and also works with the keyhole on the hatch I would start by replacing the battery in the fob itself before digging into the electrical.

On mine, car ignition off, key out of the ignition
- Instrument panel (IP) button does nothing
- Press and hold fob window button; beep followed by window going down
- Insert key into keyhole on lift hatch door and turn right; doors lock, window goes up

Do the other power windows go up/down? They are all on the same 30 amp fuse. Can you open the rear hatch window with the IP button and ignition on?

If it's not a fuse and you're getting the beep when you press the button on the fob then it's probably the ECU. There may be a YouTube video on the replacement

I found a video that show you how to open the area where the ECU is. It doesn't look too bad to replace. I did an ECU replacement for my 1999 Sienna power door that was a real bear to reach.

One other thing, the rear wiper and defroster are also controlled by the ECU. If they aren't working either then that's another sign the ECU has gone bad. Search on the ECU part number to see if there's been an upgrade to the part. The one on my 99 Sienna was upgraded in 2001 and I got a junk car replacement on eBay that has been working fine for 3 years now.
