From my control module I have a green, yellow, red, and 3 white wires that go into a plug. From the other side of the plug there black, red, green, and white. Somehow the plug itself if fried and don't really know if ordering the harness, or module will fix the issue. What would be great if there was anyway for this to be hard-wired together???

I'm not real familiar with the part itself. From everything I can gather it is called the "ignition control module" and is where the distributor housing mounts. There are 6 wires that come from the ignition to a plug and 4 wires leave the plug to the rest of the harness. I'm going to get a picture posted soon.

OK, that's commonly called the Ignitor module.
There's no reason why the connector can't be cut out and the module hardwired, but a melted connector is usually a result of a bigger problem. And it would be better to figure that out at first if possible. Pictures never hurt.

Its a 1991 and its the 3.0 v6. I've only had this particular truck a few weeks, but the person I purchased it from sold it because it was running low on power and bad gas mileage. He had replaced a ton of stuff trying to fix a problem which turned out to be the cat. He replaced the fuel regulator, but did.not install it correctly. He used Teflon thread tape to try and cover up a gas leak. I was working on it.after replacing the cat and something sparked igniting the tape itself. Luckily all that was hurt where some vacuum hoses and this plug. So it was not good, but could have been a lot worse. I was able to get a used distributor and housing. Would you take the ignitor module out of the used distributor and place it in the vehicle or do you think I would have better luck straight wiring the plug at either end?
