Converting Alpine stereo to stock(Scion)...

I have purchased a new to me 2007 SR5. The previous owner had installed an Alpine IVA-W205. Also, it appears there is an amp under the passenger seat and the back inside mirrors (near the rear hatch) has been replaced with speakers. The reason I want to revert to the Scion radio is because the Alpine has no Bluetooth and no phone capability, plus the controls intermittently stop working. (At least that I can determine from the manual) So, I have not removed anything and I was wondering what problems I might run into doing this conversion. I replaced the stock radio on my 2003 with no problems and have all of the harnesses , Bluetooth mic, etc to convert a stock installation to the PT-543-00160( I already have the radio). My main concern is I don't know what was done to convert the original radio(which I have) to the Alpine. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

depends if how the previous install is.
sell the unit and get some money towards a newer radio, also how is the opening looking like? JBL ?

if going to a single din with not jbl dash opening, there is no need for the stock radio brackets. get some money for a single din with all the things you need , i think its around 130-150.

but what is install on the truck besides and amp and radio, is there steering wheel controls too? you can keep all that with a new radio, only a few wires need to be wired in.

I already have a PT-543-00160 Scion radio to install. I have steering wheel controls. I'm mainly concerned that the installer may have cut the speaker wires to relocate them to the amp under the front seat. If that's the case, wouldn't I have to move them up behind the new radio in the dash? And, if they were cut, where do you get the connectors that plug into the back of the Scion radio? I'm sure I'm overthinking this...
 
remove the old radio out first and look at the harness, some installer just run speaker wires directly back to there and splice it in with the new radio harness, since you have an amp, they probably only wire in the constant and switched and ground and antenna, and have some rcas ran from the radio to amp, speaker leads not used on the radio.

metra make harness to convert the cut harness back to oem plugs if you need it.
 
i think you have the jbl equipped 4runner, maybe the previous owner put a new amp to bypass all the jbl stuff. what buttons are you talking about that dont work? the radio? or steering wheel controls?

It.s not JBL, for sure. He gave me the original radio. Amp under the front seat is Alpine. Thanks for the replies!

Edit: The steering wheel controls work only part of the time. And, the radio buttons don't always respond. Have turn radio off and on. The big issue for me is no phone integration.

if the radio has issues, first reset it, but i think maybe a bad adapter too and loose connection, check for new firmware for radio. if you radio has aux, you can get a bt adapter 15-30$, at this point its really adding $$ to a system if your not happy with. but take the radio out first and see whats behind it, then thats where the fun begins.
