coolant question help please

My radiator has cracked at the point where the hose from the coolant overflow attaches. This happened during the winter so had been putting off fixing it for a while. Now I have to drive unexpectedly for about 200 miles 1 way. It is a 98 v6 limited.

I want to add coolant, something I have never changed or added before as I am the second owner of this truck.

The current coolant that I can see in the over flow appears to be BLUE.

My questions are:

1. What coolant is safe to mix with this? I am assuming one that is colored blue would be best.

2. How much coolant do I add?

Thanks in Advance.

are you sure that blue "coolant" isn't windshield washer fluid?

i'm not aware of anybody that makes blue coolant.

positive. unless the 98's radiator overflow runs to the windshield wiper fluid ? =P

The coolant used at the Honda and Acura dealership I used to work at was blue....

Just go the the auto parts store and grab one that says safe to mix with any coolant and you should be fine. A few years back I found some Prestone, already 50/50 diluted which said it was fine with any other fluid, I topped off my Toyota red and never had any issues. I assume you intend on swapping out that radiator and running all new coolant within a short amount of time anyway, at that point I would switch back to the Toyota red..
