You have a valid point Danny, and one to be taken with a grain of salt. But on the flip side, there are those of us who are speaking from true experience and not just readings. I don't want a potential person to not put the 275's because they read you post and are scared.

As I mentioned earlier, tires are a funny thing. They entail a very scientific detailed process to engineer and truly manufacture correctly. There will always be bad tires and bad batches. But everything I have personally seen with my 275's look fantastic. I drive approximately 800 miles a week and will continue to update people with my experiences in the months and years to come... :beer:

Aside from the beach, have you taken them off road much, rocky terrain?

That's exactly what I'd love to do, just worried about the .5 difference. And my extent of off roading is also airing down to 18 lbs for the beach (which in fact i just got home from, perfect night) Stupid Toyota designers.

using the AT/3 off-road

It seems most of you who have bought these tires are using them mostly on the highway. Have any of you taken them off-road and tested them out in true all terrain conditions? I am torn between these and the ST (not the MAXX). I had the ST on my 08 TRD off road 4x4 Tacoma and loved them, but that was in WA going through mud, over roots & wet stuff. I now live in Tucson (Hell's back yard) and am wondering how the AT/3 or ST handles sand, loose dry dirt with some rocks (not Moab rocks tho)... I like the ST due to it's more aggressive tread and my Tacoma had 55k on the tires and they weren't half worn yet so they lasted. I don't rock crawl or anything like that, just sand loose dirt roads to go shooting or expore the desert.

Just replaced my OEM Dumflops with 36,400+ miles with set of stock size Cooper A/T 3 on my 2010 TE. Will give feedback after I put some mileage on them!

You know, that avatar pic is with my stock doughnut tires, which btw were surprisingly not bad off road. Went through Cleghorn without any problems. These trucks have really neat buttons that make it super easy and convenient.

I can tell you that on pavement they are quite nice, it's a nice soft ride and I don't feel like we lost much handling or cornering. The truck is still quite nimble with that extra plush feeling.

Road noise is close to none existence, I hear it mostly around 30-40 MPH but with the windows down and no radio and it's just a low, very low hum.

Will post off road reviews as soon as I experience it.

I love the way these things look, really really nice addition to the truck.
 
Have put on couple of hundred highway miles to date on the A/T 3 and definitely note better traction/grip especially on turns;ie. going faster and "sticking" on same turns that previously would trigger roll-over audio warning sound at lower speeds! Not that it's an excuse to drive more faster recklessly on turns!
 
Offroad

Took them out for the first time yesterday.

On gravel I could go about 25MPH, if not more. Where as before I had to stick to 10MPH with the stock tires. I felt more stable when trying to do a minor obstacle. Tires grip pretty well on dirt.

Not many small rocks were stuck from the gravel, some but most of it flew out.

I'm just amazed of how nimble and solid they are on road, dont feel much of a transition once I'm on pavement.

I'm really glad I read about these tires here before my purchase!

They run great and look great

I just did a 500 mile trip and got 21 mpg on these

Love them

Nice tires......l

I'm interested in getting new tires myself. I have the dreaded wheel shimmy at 60-70 mph that a lot of the others have here. Am either considering keeping the dunflops til they're worn and/or I snap in regards to the shimmy (which by the way I haven't brought to the dealer to sort out yet) and just get new tires.
Swammy, did you have the 60-70mph shimmy? If so. I assume the at3's cured it?
Am also wondering if the at3's come in ALL black wall.....no O.W.L. Would give me huge OCD to have outlined/raised white letters on tires and then turn em in. Would like All Blackwall.

The installer asked me white wall or black. You pick, make sure to direct the installer and you should be fine.
 
I got them at Mavis Cole

I now have 15,000 miles on them and no shimmy

Make sure you rotate

If you want black you put the rasied letters on the inside

I'll be getting a set tomorrow. Best price I found was $850 for 4 of em OTD at the local Big O. Unfortunately I live in a small town and have to drive an hour to get to Discount Tire. This price was at Discount and Big-O is matching it. The other locally owned tire shops around here say they can't get Cooper.

You can get them shipped to you or Big O, or any tire shop for that matter. If you order through the website.

This way, you don't have to pay taxes on top. They do offer free shipping. IMHO.
