COOPER STT 265/70/17 or 285/70/17

Hey guys I am almost about to make a decision. I am real close. I am going to buy the Cooper Stts but which size????


Should I buy the 265/70/17 and be able to have a spare.

Or...should I buy the 285/70/17s

For me, a spare is important. So, whatever size you choose, i would pick one that you can carry an equivalent size spare with you (via stock location, rear bumper, roof rack, etc.).

Does anyone have a tire picture with the 265/70/17s?

I am getting these for looks mostly. I am not worried about mpgs but semi concerned about not having a spare with the 285s.

If the 265 stts look sexy still I would consider them I am still leaning on the 285s. If the 265s still look sexy even with a little less rubber plus capability to ride a spare I would be tempted I just need to see some pictures with someone who has 265 cooper stts on.

Keep the opinions coming guys it is much appreciated.

I started off with the 265 bfg at but decided it wasn't enough meat haha. I now have 285s MTR. go with the big meats since mpg isnt a factor for you.

Do they have it in 275 for the 17? I am running the 275/18 STT along with the spare.

If i had your truck, then i pick the size that would fit in my spare tire location. If you are planning on storing your spare elsewhere, then it is up to you. Bigger meat = bad fuel economy, worst handling, poor braking, poor acceleration, rubbing issues, etc.. I don't like headaches...so, i guess that i would go with the smaller tires.

I dont think so... I can only find 265/70/17 ...if anyone finds bigger ones let me know!
