Cooper STT Pro vs. Toyo M/T vs. Falken M/T

Curious if anyone has some experience with these tires? I'm looking to get some 285/75-16s for my 3rd gen. I currently am on my second set of Toyo M/T's on my Super Duty, and I like them, but with that vehicle I'm not too concerned about weight. I've noticed that the Toyo is very heavy compared to the Coopers and in addition, the price difference is huge. I've also considered the Falken Wildpeak AT3s in addition to their M/T, but I just feel I'm pretty set on an M/T tire.

I see a lot of people run the Cooper STT Pros around here. They get good reviews both on and off road. Also, the new BFG KM3's are coming out in June. They changed up the compound, spacing, shoulder to sidewall design and pattern slightly from the KM2's.

Plenty of people also run the Falken Wildpeaks as they are generally a good deal, but I have seen a few reports of torn sidewalls. But the people that I know that have them love them.

Also, if the timing works for you, probably not if you need them right now, Discount Tire Direct runs a twice a year sale on eBay for $100 off for every $400 purchase. So, you make 2 purchases for $200 off total. They run this yearly in March and October. It may not help you this time around, but maybe next time.

Thanks for the info! I had the KM2's on my previous truck in a 35 and I really liked them. The only thing about them is I feel the sidewall is a bit boring. I really want an aggressive sidewall. I thought about waiting for the KM3's. Discount Tire has a memorial day sale going on right now that's not as good as the semi-annual one you're speaking of but its still something.

I had also read about the weak sidewalls on the Falkens. In addition to that they are quite a bit heavier than the Cooper. The Toyos are too. However, my current tires are prob. about 39 pounds..so whether I'd tell the difference in an additional 10 pounds or not..who knows. It's gonna be more sluggish with less MPG either way haha.

So I'm thinking either wait for KM3s or go for the Coopers.
