Maneuvering the shock assembly was a bas**** and a half... but, No I never touched the ball joint... do you think that is going to be a safety issue?

Guys, I would like to get your opinion on doing it. I know doing it by your self is more better but I'm planning the mechanic to do it for me as I'm not competent / comfortable enough to do it. Do you think those mechanic availble like Maidas, Napa etc., can do it properly or there any special mechanic to do it?
BTW if anybody from Chicago area that can recommend any good mechanic?
Thanks Again.
