cornfed vs toytec

i wanted to lift my truck 2/1 and was wondering if there was any noticable difference in ride quality between changing the coils compared to just adding the cornfed spacer. is the ride difference worth the extra money?

Well, I'd start as to why you want to lift your ride. Is this for looks or for real using purpose like for clearance to go off road?
If it's for looks, CF & Toytec are both going to be the same. I have my preference for which company I'd rather do business with.
Most everyone here who started with spacers for going off road, eventually admitted they should of done the coils/shocks lift to begin with. Hence why you see lots of spacers for sale!
So what is the motivation behind your application towards a lift?

What Ruffian said is right. I'd also like to add that since there are so many spacer kits for sale, you can pick them up pretty cheap. I got my cornfed from a fellow member for $120. New it sells for $280 or something. What I'm saying is you should really think about it unless money is no option. Because if all you are looking to do is get a little more height, I would say go with the spacers. Your truck will ride just about the same as stock. As far as Toytec or any other "real" suspension kits, it can vary from one extreme to the other, you would have to choose according to what you want.

Thanks for the reply guys. i just wanted to lift the truck mainly for looks. i never drive off road. the main reason i ask is that a couple of people have told me that by adding spacers it makes the stock coil tighter making the ride stiffer, but after helping my dad install a toytec spring kit this past weekend it has made me really think about if the ride quality was that big of a difference to go through all that trouble.

I'm new to lifts for 4runners, but i'm assuming this is the Cornfed setup
that would work right? I dont do extreme offroading, mostly driving on sand. My plan is i guess to get this setup, and to get a wheel/tire.

Ya that's the only place you can get them new. You may be able to find a used one in the classifieds for a bit cheaper. People tend to use them as a stepping stool to a "full suspension" upgrade, so they get sold quite a bit. I'm still on spacers and it's fine for right now.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on the classifieds. This is a phased in project once my old tires go.
