Cracked Glass in Headlight

So,

After upgrading to HID's and also it being glass I took a rock head on and now my glass has a hole in it. I'm worried that it will retain condensation and mess up the HID bulb. How do I seal that small hole in the glass. I want to get this fixed ASAP but not sure how to go about this one. My skills with glass are not that hot. Any ideas would be helpful. I was thinking about calling safelight even and seeing if that stuff they use will fix it up.

How big of a hole? I used to have one in mine, a little smaller than a dime, and nothing I used lasted real long. You might could use some marine epoxy that goes on clear. Anything you use is obviously temporary. You're going to need a new light housing eventually.

Just swap the glass with TYC headlight.

TYC glass is great. The rest of their headlight not so much.

I covered how do to the swap in my HID thread but I imagine you already know.

Maybe you could use one of those windshield glass repair kits (the ones that stick onto the glass and you inject the provided epoxy).

Yup. Not too hard to do. Google or YouTube "baking headlight for projector retrofit" and you'll get an idea of what's needed.

You will have to buy a new headlight assembly, but yes it is possible to replace just the glass, but then you are left with a reflector bowl you don't need. If I were you and the hole is less than a dime in diameter I would look into epoxying it.

Yes you can just take apart the glass and do the swap. You will need to buy a new L/R headlight for $40.

I don't think you will be taking apart the HID, just swap the glass. The HID component can stay assembled. Just remove the bulb and bake.

I personally would replace the glass after seeing it. There is no way to fix it without completely ruining your light output...
