I think I paid $65 for a local guy to replace just my driver side seat bottom. Kind of pricey for 1.5 hours of work, but this wasn't his first rodeo and I didn't have to wrestle with those hog rings.

I think I paid $65 for a local guy to replace just my driver side seat bottom. Kind of pricey for 1.5 hours of work, but this wasn't his first rodeo and I didn't have to wrestle with those hog rings.
I just got 1 seat back and seat bottom to replace the drivers side and the quality is fantastic! I will be replacing the passenger side in couple of months, drivers side was plum wore out!
To those that have already installed them, whats the trick to zipping the seat back zipper?

Does anyone know if this guy makes replacements for the rear seats as well? I just purchased a 1998 4runner Limited w/4x4 and all the leather needs to be replaced. If he doesn't, does anyone know where to buy replacement leather for the rear seats? Thanks

I have not heard of anyone getting a set for the rear. Try messaging him on eBay. He was quick to reply to all of my initial questions.

Has anyone had their 4Runner completely reupholstered? I'd like to redo mine in some sort of cloth appropriate for some serious outdoor duty. The sort of stuff in Jeeps and such (I'm saying this referring only to the fact that it's intended to be rained on, hosed off, etc.). I'm curious what to expect cost-wise.

Sort of related to this topic - Mothers makes a leather conditioner that smells absolutely wonderful and will do wonders to keep your leather from cracking.

Update I emailed him but has not got back to me I am going to check with a local guy that does alot of work for me on the bikes I build and see what kind if price I can get if anyone would like some stuff let me know shoot me a PM and I will get with him an see what kind of deal I can work out does that sound good to everyone.

The price appears to have gone up. $400 for two seat bottoms? I think it used to be cheaper. There are a lot of local shops that can do this kind of work.
You just go there, they quote you, then pay, they remove the existing and clone it.

Yeah - it seemed extremely pricy... but lots of guys were commenting on the quality. $400 for two complete seats, ok...I guess. But if it gets up to $800 (accounting for the upper portions) that's a lot of jack for seats - excuse me - seat covers...

Yeah for another 400 bucks you could have brand new Corbeau Sport seats in Black Leather.
You could also get a set of Katzkins for around 800 bucks I believe, and they use much higher quality materials than the stock Toyota seats.
