I have a cracked screen on my 2017 4Runner JBL head unit with navigation. Is the replacement screen the same part number? Thanks in advance for any info

Hey, I recently replaced the screen and digitizer on my 4Runner thanks to the info on this thread. The other morning (first cold morning of the year), I went out to the truck and saw what I thought was a dog hair on the screen. I rubbed it real lightly thinking it would brush away, but it turns out it was a hairline crack that then extended itself, and now I'm back to square one :dammit: 
Anybody else had failures in cold weather like this? I'm trying to decide if I buy another screen off aliexpress, or if I say screw it and buy an aftermarket head unit.

Cracked my digitizer, dealership wanted $5K to install a completely new head unit.
Found this AWESOME thread, ordered the digitizer for ~$19 shipped from alibaba, the digitizer arrived in some really crude packaging, the install went great, everything as advertised in this thread and it works fine.
On my install I found that the heat tape was not necessary as there is a recess in the front panel the digitizer drops into and it is held in place by pressure well enough for me.

Hi Manofsteele2003. I’m replying to an old thread I know but I wondered of you still have that new screen and digitizer. I have a 2014 4Runner Limited w/ JBL head unit. I’ve had to suffer the last 3 or 4 months with a busted digitizer. Only the steering wheel controls work for my radio.

I found this thread and really liked the info you all have shared. I ordered the digitizer from Aliexpress and it went out about the first week of March. Well then this dang Covid19 pandemic hit and my order is dead and I have no idea what happened. Aliexpress was good enough to refund my money to PayPal. So they’re cool. I only paid $12 for the screen too. Does anyone here have any more info on what exactly to get as fat as part numbers and if that includes screen & digitizer. I assume the digitizer is the controlling ability of the screen (like an AMOLED screen). Any more information anybody can give me would be most appreciated. Best to all... & stay healthy.

This is what happened to me. A cold morning cracked it, and throughout the day, the crack spread. I am now debating on whether I should use this method and try and keep the OEM radio or switch to the T9. Warranty was denied, they claimed that it was caused by "inward push/hit." $5200 for JUST the radio through the dealer.

FWIW, I did end up buying another screen and it worked out. It seems ever so slightly less sensitive than my first aliexpress screen but it hasn't cracked yet. For about $40 shipped and a few minutes of tinkering, I can't complain. Sure beats $5K!

I just replaced the digitizer on my 2017 4Runner Limited today. I got the part from AliExpress ($12 total, took 2 weeks to get). Followed the instructions of another thread on this forum (and a few YouTube videos) and I was able to replace it in about an hour. Saved me literally thousands compared to what the dealership was asking. Simple to fix and most anyone handy can do it. Too bad this seems to be a common issue with Toyotas.
