Crackling In My Speakers?? Any Suggestions??

I recently just got a 2000 All Black Sport Edition 4Runner... which I freakin love! But my factory speakers are messing up...

ONLY when I put in a CD do the speakers start to crackle and become staticy... and REALLY bad too !! I have tried to trouble shoot but nothing is working...

- Adjust the audio controls... NOPE
- Use a clean or scratched CD... NOPE
- Turn volume all the way up or down...NOPE

What is going on? If I put the radio on... everything is fine!

It looks like the dude who owned it before me had an audio system in it... could that make a difference...or do I need to clean out the cd player?

Please Help...

my subs used to get like that and i figured out it was that the connection was getting loose so id unconnect everything and redo it all. maybe??

given what you said, i would check all grounds for the stereo. make sure the previous owner didnt strip any wires that happen to be touching now. also, explain if it is a deck crackle (sound quality lacking in certain frequencys) or a speaker blown (excessive speaker vibration, squeals). hope this helps.

thanks for the info... the previous owner left some wires hanging around... so i better check that... because the speakers are fine when jammin the radio... just whenever I put in a cd...thanks guys
