CRank pully!

got the bolt out n all good just cant get the pully off, any tricks? All videos shows it slides right off.

1. Walk it off by using two pry bars behind it.
2. Rubber hammer.
3. Harmonic balancer removal tool - probably the best way to go.
4. Jaw puller.

You can often make one of these for cheaper than a new one would be. It just has to be a metal bar with a couple bolts through it. You can find the link in the FAQ Sticky.

You are talking about a holder. He needs a puller. You'll do fine as a parts guy.

Be careful with a jaw puller. The HB is a pulley sandwich, with the outer part (that the jaw pulls on) separated from the inner part (that is stuck to the shaft) by a rubber cushion layer. A jaw puller will tend to just separate the two halves if it is really stuck. Result: dead HB. Use the kind with bolts that thread into the inner core. Like this one:

thats the one i used, the pully just needed a little help moving n then came right off.

i tryed to walk it off afte rsoaking for about 30 mins, but i felt like i was putting to much force on the edge of the pully with the bars. rented a puller. 2 mins it was off smooth as silk.

You're right, my mistake. Doing this 10 hours a day I'm bound to slip up at some point. At least I have your confidence.
