Crankshaft bolt tool help!

I have the special tool. You're welcome to borrow it and pay for shipping. Likely gonna be the cost of the tool itself really but it's your call.

Ex Auto tech. Tool is collecting dust in my tool box.

Also, torque spec is different for 2 different types of crank bolts.

One with washer as part of the head is 187 I believe, 217 for two-piece bolt. Funny because mine loosened up after 8 years and I ordered a brand new bolt from Toyota and they sold me the older style. Not sure why it's like that. I did mine to 200 with blue lock tite.

I put 400 lbs of torque on that stupid JDM pulley and it held together like it was a solid unit. But I do know what you mean, they can separate.

I also just whack the heck out of it with my air impact when putting it on. Never had an issue taking them back off (which I have done).

Exactly. I wouldn't do it with one I was going to re-use. All's fair when parts aren't getting re-used.

And the only time I have had a crank bolt come loose for me is when I forgot to hit it with the impact.... (I was doing a timing belt on an engine stand and didn't have the air on at the time, figured I do it later when putting the engine back in the bay...)

I made one with some flat stock and the size bolts stated above all that was needed was some thing to cut the flat stock and a drill for the bolts the style I made ended up looking lik a Y so you don't need to get the measurements perfect but use grade 5 bolts and some flat washers to spread the pressure out. You may need to notch where the socket goes threw. I think it cost me less than 20 dollars metal came from a scrap metal place. took about a hour to build plus running around getting the stuff. The first pic is for camshaft tool the second one is for crankshafts. I have used both 5 times without any problems the crankshaft tool rest against the frame while the camshaft tool is held when using. Good luck
