Quirt,

Asking for the discount code that will last thru the end of the month please.
Will it also apply to the Q2 as well?

Thanks

I am having a code made for all three EB's at the moment, but still waiting on the return email.

You are welcome

Just called for a shipping quote to canada. Will get an email reply sooner or later.

Then if it's reasonable, as soon as we have a code I'll get one of these and see.

As for the fill-up report of the other guy from Fort Worth (Darryle), maybe his fillup was at beginning of december, where gas prices were around 2.60$ in fort worth. But would like some clarifications. (Edit: ok got it from the post above.)

Did you always fill up with super, Darryle? Because, as soon as I fill up with super here, I see an increase of approx 5% on my fuel economy, just because of the 0% ethanol blend.

I only use Super:

That was fast enough.
Thanks!

Thanks Darryle.
I have used Super for several months, since probably October. I also only fill up at QT, brother in law has a company that inspects and calibrates pumps, tanks and service stations, he has told me on numerous occasions that QT and Shell have the most accurate pumps and the least amount of water in their tanks. Shell is always ¢15 higher on average ,so QT it is.

To late,i will see you tomorrow around 10:00 :D :lmao:

Are you going to do a run on the dyno before and after the install?
Or is that not enough time to the ECU to cal?

It'd be nice to log engine rpm, fuel status, STFT, LTFT, commanded equivalence ratio, and O2 voltages during the runs before and after via OBD-II. That'd give us a good idea of what's going on.

If the Dyno is an advanced model with a constant hp (or really any steady state test function) and you so choose to do random requests, I would be very curious to attempt to produce a constant peak or near peak hp and/or at say 2000rpms and half throttle (say 90hp or something like that) for a duration of 30 seconds each to determine if the vehicle compensates for lean burn and how quickly or it maintains a peak peak hp without compensating. And of course a "control" run without the device under similar conditions. Or if not possible, even a slow - 5fps/ps or similar sweep test could provide a somewhat similar analysis.

I'm still not on board that there will be any enrichment at WOT, but I'll have to wait until these dyno results (if the OBD-II data is given) or when I get a chance to drive my wife's 4Runner. I tested my Prius v today. Closed loop under WOT with fuel trims still active. Not exactly a direct comparison to the 4Runner ECU strategy though. ;)

There will certainly be no enrichment at part throttle. A constant power or load comparison would be nice. If it gives you 3-5% at WOT due to leaner combustion, part throttle gains may be negligible. I imagine most of us run at part throttle >99% of the time.

That sounds about right, our Prius testers saw a zero increase in fuel mileage with our EB. They must be in closed loop 100% of the time.

My thought is that you may be able to show a slight increase in lean burn on a very short dyno sweep due to the cpu not compensating for the lean burn very aggressively. Probably due to some algorithm loop maximum compensation per time period. A steady state dyno test at almost any output would show whether it maintains a lean burn or induces a temporary lean burn. A quick sweep like most drum dynos without braking force will leave us in the dark about this.

Part throttle even on the manufacturers dyno runs show gains within the margin of error. In this case we'd really want to see a/f numbers at a steady state. EGTs would be ideal as well, but unlikely.

JeremyB,

I've read, in the TacomaWorld thread, that it causes up to one point toward lean (not enrichment) at WOT.

---up to, and that was seen across various models. On my mobile, can't go look back at the specific post for now.
