Crawl control on = No seatbelt chime

I was exercising the 4wd in my 2018 TRDP today and I noticed that when using the crawl control, the seatbelt light flashes but the chime does not sound (for both driver and passenger). If they had the foresight to turn it off when we are using the crawl control, then why not just disable it at low speeds all together for when ur crawling/off-roading without using the crawl control?

Or you could just disable it completely. Pretty sure that was one of the first things I did to mine, way back in 2012.

I used TIS to disable the drivers side, but left the passenger side on. It will beep 59 times then it quits. It does not take too long because after a few seconds the beeping gets faster.

BOOM. There it is. Has nothing to do with crawl control being enabled.

Through TIS? I don't have access to TIS so I've been hunting other means with no luck

There are lots of threads about getting access to TIS.

Here's another thought, if you just wear the seat belt...........the chime doesn't go off either. :rofl:

I don't want to pay 30+ dollars for the cable just to disable a seatbelt chime that hardly ever comes on. Hence me asking if he had a different solution

My dealer turned off the chime for me the first month I had it. When I'm out in the wild taking pics or shooting I don't want to have to put the belt on and take it off as frequently as I get in and out.

I first tried just buckling it behind me under those circumstances, but then I would hit the highway and forget to unbuckle it and have to stop.

Much more annoying to me is the chime when the key is in the ignition but the door is open. At least in my '97 BMW, if you turn the key to the on position, the chime stops.

I reprogrammed mine with the Carista app and adapter. Worth it, because I was able to change other settings too.

Carista app which is free and an OBDII Bluetooth connector for under $20. You can change more than just the seatbelt chime.
