I'm new to the forum and Toyota in general, having just picked up a 2014 Trail Edition with KDSS and Entune on July 23. I didn't waste any time getting her dirty and starting to mod. Before the 4Runner, I had a 2011 F150, and a Jeep Wrangler before that, so I'm not new to the whole off road scene.

Anyway, here's where I'm at so far:

I waited about a week before ordering an Icon Stage 1 suspension. I went with the Stage 1 because I don't see an immediate need for arms and can easily upgrade later on if I decide to get arms later on.

Icon Stage 1 installed:

While waiting on my wheels and tires to arrive, I decided to take her out to the desert and play a bit (both of these are about 10 minutes from home):

The wheels I got are Method NV, 17x8.5 with 4.5" backspace and 0 offset. I mounted a set of Toyo Open County A/T II's in 285/75-17. In my opinion, this set up works perfectly. I only have very light rubbing at full right lock in reverse on the mud flap. I also took it on a slightly more serious trail to test everything out, and came away impressed (with a bit of bumper damage :embarassed:)

That's it for now. I got a Mobius Action Cam for a dash cam that will be going in sometime soon and a Chinese special Cree 31" single row LED light bar going in the grille. I'm also considering having the trail bumper pieces that I scratched up sprayed with Line-X. Thoughts?

You are on the right track, scrapping all that cheap plastic away! A new winch bumper would get r,I'd of it once and for all!

Congrats on the new 4Runner and glad to see you jumping right in with the mods and off-road use. The new build is looking great!

Looks good brother! How much do they pass the fenders, im looking at new wheels either these or Mickey Thompson Classic 2, but looking at -12mm offset instead of 0 but yours look like they hand out nicely

Where is this exactly? Is it any where close to the LV Strip?

Both are on the west side of Vegas, near Red Rock Canyon. The red rocks are west of Alta and Fox Hill Dr in Las Vegas and the other is southwest of Tropicana and Town Center. Even the more mountainous trail is close to Vegas (Rocky Gap Rd in Red Rock).

crazynova, 4Runner looks awesome! Wondering about the tires - assuming you meant 285/70/17's? Also, are these the P-metric or D-load range?
