Cross bars

When I bought my 4runner it had both cross bars but one of the bars separated from the dial that is used to tension the bar so it doesn't slide. I have an 06' sport and I was wondering where I could buy another crossbar cheap and also how easy it is to replace. Does it slide out of the end aftr the caps are taken off?

Try a scrap yard.

They will slide off once the end caps are off. Use a little caution there. There are 2 tabs on each side along the base AND a tab/pin that sticks down from top center. Ya kinda have to free the side tabs then left straight up to avoid breaking that tab. Lost one after both tabs on one side broke.

i was able to find a ton of rack parts either on here in the classifieds or scanning through craigslist, you should be able to as well.
