Cruise control not working

Exactly that. Tried to engage the cruise control and nothing happened. No indicator or hold. Any guesses? Bad sensor?

I'll find out when I go into work tomorrow. I had three different cops pacing me at times on my way back from a party. Just to be safe I went to put on cruise control and nothing happened.

Try it today. You may have been to drunk coming home from the party to use it correctly.

Are your brake lights working?

On a lot of cars a failure of the brake light switch (near brake pedal) will cause the cruise control to cancel.

I went out to Huntington after work last week. My assistants father passed away, so I went the wake. I never saw so many cops for crying out loud.....friggin po-po everywhere!

Try scanning for codes. If there is any DTC the cruise will not work either. Although, with DTC, there should also be a MIL unless it is pending.

In Quogue, there's one on every few streets. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Really? I wish I knew that when I had my Explorer.... that brake light switch failed all the time. Don't think I ever noticed the cruise control not working and I must have driven for six months without rear lights. Stupid single point failure

I got it to come on after a few presses then wouldn't turn off. Fiddled with the lever. It went off and on after a playing with it. Then wouldn't come on again.

Didn't your parents warn you about playing with it to much, your lucky you didn't go blind.

Sounds like a loose wire in the stalk maybe.

Hadn't had an issue with it and use it all of the time where applicable. Just noticed it last night. I'll be looking into it tomorrow at work.

Were you going over 30 mph?

Honestly, it sounds like the cruise switch is going out or the contacts are dirty.

It will come on when I turn the wheel to the left. There is a wire/spring inside the steering wheel neck which clocks around when turning. Something is up with it inside there.
