Crunchy Suspension when 'offroading'

Ok, so feel free to point me in the right direction if this has been asked before (as I'm sure it has been, but as we all know, the search feature isn't exactly useful)

Simply stated, my suspension crunches when going over major bumps.
2wd 3.4 Auto.
I'm at 157k, and installed new LBJs at 150k, and made sure to retest the torque after a couple thousand miles.
I'm the second owner and to my knowledge, besides the LBJs, everything is stock.
I discovered this with some light offroading last weekend (my inlaws have 20 acres in Huntsville, TX that I was having fun on).

It sounds very similar to a barking dog (I actually stopped to make sure that there were none around because it sounds so similar).

I THINK it's coming from the front, but I do have the sagging rear end that afflicts so many stock 4Runners.

I'm a complete suspension noob, but do know my way around a wrench.
Would/could this be an opportunity for a slight lift, or are they different components?

Narrow it down. Cycle the suspension while the truck is at rest, determine what exactly is making the noise. It could be anything from sway bar bushings (annoying but ignorable) to control arm bushings (slightly more important) to a dry and falling-apart lower ball joint (critical to fix right now).

But isolate first. Find exactly what's making the noise so you can make your upgrade or repair decision with all the facts.

So pretty much just stand in the door frame and bounce the truck to see what's up?
Better not be the LBJs. OEM ones installed only 7k ago...
I don't think it is, as I believe I heard the crunch a couple times before the change, but never really paid attention to it.

Pretty much. Door frames, front and rear bumpers at each corner, move around and see where it's coming from. Then once you've narrowed it down to a corner, a visual inspection might show you the trouble right away, or you might need somebody else to bounce while you lay under and watch/listen.
