Cure for fogging headlights

How do we fix the condensation in the headlights. Last nights storm made them super foggy with condensation. It’s reakky bad. And how can I clean the insides.

Check to make sure the dust covers are on first then make sure your bulbs are properly seated in the housing, I had a isssue with my Tacoma fog light and used air to blow it dry and then mad sure bulb was seated right so it made a seal, hopefully this will help which one is it both high and low beams areas ?

since its only 1 year old, you might want to swing by the dealership to see if they can replace them for brand new ones. Hopefully you didn't drill through the dust covers for HIDS. lol

Agreed. Bring it back to the dealer and have them replaced under warranty!!

If factory, go to your dealer and get it fixed.

If HID retrofit, well that's why you don't take the headlights apart.

I put a HID kit from TRS on the low and high beam so yeah I had to cut the covers. But I used the gasket and gorilla tape to seal it up. Anyone have a place to order new rear caps to see what they will do. It’s not hard to remove the hid setup anyway.

More than likely it is the seal on the bulbs not properly seated.
Check to see if the bulbs are loose in the sockets.
I have never had any issues using items from TRS, but had an issue with some high beam LED bulbs from another manufacturer and had to put an oversized "O" ring on the bulb, loosen the 3 screws at the high beam socket on the housing, place the bulb in the socket and retighten the 3 screws.
Condensation issue solved. The bulbs dried the lens out completely and I have not had any condensation issue since.

I can assure you it has nothing to do with the dust covers. They are designed to keep out splash and dust. The bottom of that fixture has a hole in the bottom where the wires run through to the low beam bulb.

If your bulbs are tight, this is what I suggest...... put the OEM bulbs back in, buy some new dust covers and them take it to the dealership and tell them there is condensation forming in your headlights.

Oh, no need for gorilla or any other tape..... Just sayin'

I had condensation in one headlight. With only 5k miles. Turns out there was a compromised seal. They swapped it out under warranty.

Besides the stealership any other thoughts where I can get oem caps for the low beams. The condensation has gotten really bad after all this rain too.

It's not your caps, stick your hand under your light assembly, you will feel the hole where the wires run thru. Moisture would still come thru there!

I had condensation in one of my headlights, it turned out that I didn't have the dust cover seated properly and there was a gap between the gasket and the headlight housing.

The oversized "O" Rings came with the bulbs....(wonder why).
I did put some "O" ring grease, (non-hardening clear/whitish stuff)

But that cured my condensation issue....

Try putting the OEM bulbs back into your assemblies. Park your vehicle facing the sun if possible and allowing the condensation to dry (disappear), this may take a few days depending on how muck moisture has been sucked into the assemblies.
The sun will heat up the lens and force the moisture out thru the bottom vents that have a Gore-Tex-like material in them.

If the moisture continues to develop with the OEM bulbs w/ OEM "O" rings, then take it back to the dealership and have them replaced under warranty with your new dust caps installed!

Now, if the moisture disappears with he OEM bulbs installed.... you have just pinpointed your issue!
