custom fog lights

just wanted to share what i did the other day. Had some clear bumper turn signals laying around from 95-97 tacoma, from an old project that i sold. i actually did this in an old 97 tacoma i had but i didn't have to cut the bumper like the 4r. anyways all i did was put the clear lens up to the bumper and trace out pattern, then cut out and installed them, they're running off headlights right now. might change them to the parking light switch later. installed some 7w cree led projector 1156 in them and pretty bright, heres a few pictures, let me know what you guys think.

neat. I don't see the projector but instead just a shallow reflector though.. hmm

yea its not projector in the sense like the headlights, just a led diode behind a "bubbled lens" to "project" the light, they were like $8 off amazon. they have pretty good output for the price. just not enough room in that housing for a true projector. Also anyone ever seen a decent 3000k 1156? I've looked at the 1000's on ebay and amazon, just wondered if anyone had any good luck with any. thanks

i like it, needs to have its own switch if its to be used as a fog light though. The parking switch like you mentioned might be a good idea, easier that way, just use a relay

Interesting, but for the love of God take them off the headlight circuit.

Sincerely,
Everyone driving the other direction as you.

Yea, a simple relay and switch would take all of 20 mins to install. Those look they put out a lot of glare.

Ah ok, so a diffuser, got it.

the glare really isn't anywhere near as bad as it looks in the pictures, i guess it just looks like that with my old cell phone. they are aimed nearly straight down at the ground on the 4runner. in the taco they were level so thats why those were so bad. but yea i have a oem fog with on order from ebay but its coming from like the Philippines or something so its taking forever to get here. but thanks for all the input. i was going to rob the fogs off the wives 4r but that didn't happen lol, and i wasn't about to pay as much as they wanted for an oem set.
