custom made rack

Ive done a bit of research on racks but im not too familiar with people who make their own. This guy on craigslist is selling one for $50. Not bad but i would like to hear some opinions on this. Is it worth going this route or is it safer spending $200+. This would be my first rack so any suggestions appreciated

It depends on what you are doing with the rack and how you plan on attaching it. There was an article in Overland Journal in the past year that has a bunch of rack reviews. That might help you evaluate it. But for $50, I get it if it looked like the material was reasonably tough and the welds were done well.

I appreciate the tip. Ive tried contacting the guy but never got a response back. So Im gonna say forget it. Sucks, cuz for $50 it wasnt a bad deal if it was constructed well
