cv axle question

I have a 3 inch lift on my truck . I just purchased a set of cv axle from autozone and installed them today. I notice after installing them my front tires would not rotate with the truck on jack stands. But once the truck is on the ground the tires are able to rotate. With the old cv axle it would rotate with the truck on jack stands. Is this going to be a problem if I go off road?

Well, I've seen the same thing with a tire at full droop and the CV axle was binding and didn't want to turn. Honestly, I would use an Auto Zone CV as a trail spare but using them all the time probably isn't something I would do. OEM or some type of superior aftermarket CVs would be the best way to go. Napa supposedly has some pretty good CVs. But, if you're going to wheel your rig, you have to be prepared to break a CV and have a spare on hand and the tools available to handle the swap. If you go wheeling and aren't prepared to replace one, I hope you have some good walking shoes.
