you can try CVJ Axles - Remanufactured Axles & Power Racks i found they have decent prices on their rebuilds, and they are made in america

yeah cvj is good. I buy from them all the time. I think I've boughten 4 or 5 axles from them. I've got 2 more broken ones to take in there later this week.

I've bought 3 from checker/O'rielly. Those are no good. The steel isn't very good and they end up breaking off inside the diff. And its a PITA to get out the small piece left inside the diff.

Don't buy auto parts store junk axles.
Most are made with junk steel and are poorly heat treated. Some will lockup at full droop too.

Find a local driveline/driveshaft/cv axle shop near you that rebuilds factory axles.

Factory nut is 35mm, some aftermarket nuts are 36mm.

As bad as the sales folks are here at the auto parts store, most indy shops employees around Savannah are just as bad. If the South is lacking one major thing, it is good, honest, independent specialized shops. There are a few, but it is analogus to finding the needle in the haystack.

Since I take the 4 runner off road at most 4x a year, I will see how the $75 Advanced CV does. If it craps out on me, then I will most likely spring for the $250 dealer manufactured one down the road.

I know this of an older post but I work at the shop and use 36mm. Also if anyone ever needs axles, I get it done for 90 bucks thru cvj at work.
