I installed a 3in Daystar spacer kit front and rear and the front cv"s vibrate while driving even after installing a differential drop kit does anyone know a alternative way to drop the diff. Even more?

yeah get an aligment, and make sure the CV is actually all the way pushed into the diff.

Yea I had an alignment done even before the differential drop because I though that's what it was but even after still had a pretty bad vibration. Then after the differential drop its not nearly as bad but I didn't know if there was a way to get rid of the vibration completely? Thanks for all the replys so quick guys! This was my first thread ever so it's cool to see the response, thanks a ton

Hey guys, didn't want to start another cv angle thread so... yeah I'm happy as hell about my lift but then i took a look at my cv's and now i'm kinda worried. Does this look pretty bad?

I have a diff drop installed and everything. there is a 1.5 top plate spacers with a 1/2 poly spacer on top of that. Please say I'm ok lol
I'm gonna order coilovers most likely in the summer. but this has got to get me by for a few more months. Thanks!

your boots are going to explode and spray grease just like everyone else who has put on a lift, check out the cv boot fixs and mods

^^Looks fine to me, same as mine pretty much.
how long have yours been that way? did they hold up during all those miles on your recent trips exploring the northern states?

Mine have been like that for almost a year now. Never had my boots rip or fling grease at all, nor did my old CV's that broke on the trail. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones. They held up great on the trip and all the wheeling in Moab, the front wheel bearings not so much...

To the OP: could be your driveshaft not liking the new angle. Grease up the zerks and check for any movement in the joints, to at least rule it out.

Doesn't dropping/lowering the diff kind of defeat the purpose of installing the lift kit? Losing clearance when your really trying to gain clearance?

On our diffs, lowering it just an inch isn't going to make it lower than the front crossmember. Skidplates at the lowest point arn't affected at all, so neither is clearance.

I have not experienced any cv boot issues post lift.

this is making me feel a lot better, I feel like a noob all over again. Did your guy's diff drops come with spacers for the skids on top of the ones you stick in the front diff?

No spacers for the skid. I did add some nice thick washers though so I could bolt the skid back up. Would not bolt up without them. And now with the washers for the skid the middle front skid bolt won't go back in. One of these days I'll take my skid off and grind off that portion that I've seen on here before so it will fit without the washers. Someone on here has done it but I don't remember who...?
