CV boot clamp

The most inboard boot clamp (the one on the tulip) on my CV slipped off during my lift instal. I had to cut the clamp in order to get the boot back where it goes. Right now I have a large zip tie around it and it is working ok.

Anybody with a more durable/permanent solution?

Thanks. Considered the hose clamp but thought it would be too wide. I'll pick one up. Thanks for the response.

Lots of people, me included, use a #20 stainless steel hose clamp. Works like a charm!

Just for reference if a #20 is good for the larger diameter side of the boot what size do you use on the smaller size? Sounds like something good to keep in the parts bag.

Damn, I totally missed the part where you said it was the tulip side. Guess I should drink my coffee before responding to posts in the morning...

The #20 is perfect for the small side of the boot. Not sure about the larger side, but I would think a hose clamp would work there as well. Not sure about the side tho.

No worries. I thought it sounded a little small. I'll see what I come up with.

Just an FYI.... but I believe you can buy just the boot clamps at the parts store. That being said... I saw a really good DIY on how to replace your boots, and the guy in the video, says he uses Zipties alot.... they work just as well, if you you can get a good solid ziptie. :)
