Cv boot options, what whould you do?

I know there are alot of threads about this and I have looked at most of them. Alot of them are old and I want to know who did what and how long it held up. I am getting ready to reboot mine again, last year I rebooted with ORS on the inner and Auto Zone stock replacement outers, well go figure 1 of thet Auto Zone ones tore already. So right know I have some options and am seeking info from the experiened, you guys.I have Toyota replacement kits inner and outers and I have ORS inners, I also have Allpro outers and there is now way in H_ll will they fit the outers (way to big). Factory grease and some Redline CV 2 grease. My question is what would you do with all these option and what has lasted the longest. Im running a Toytec 3" with diff drop.

Well I was gonna say the long travel allpro boots. Why do you think they won't fit?

Thank you all for your input. The allpro, s are way to big, and even if I could close the gap I would be worried about tthem rubbing the rivets on the LCA. they look like they would work well on the inside.
As far as the boot slide goes what boots would you us, OEM, or ORS?. And your thoughts on the synthetic grease.

I looked at their boots and it looks like an allpro is the same? I am going to go with OEM outer, the inners is were I am looking for best options.

I replaced my passenger side this weekend with a split boot kit from Autozone. I didn't have the time to replace it with an OEM or All Pro, so I used the split boot.

The glue it comes with pretty much melts the two sides together. The instructions say it needs an hour to cure. I glued one side together a little over a week ago, and let it sit while I was out of town. I couldn't pull them apart when I tried, pretty strong. Put it on the cv Sunday morning, glued the other side, and let it sit until late that afternoon. Came back, put in the grease, pull the boot, and clamped it. I drove it around for about an hour, and had no leaks.

More than once on cars, lasted several years until I finally sold the vehicles! Luck...

[MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] How did this patch hold up? I got a torn inner and I was thinking of just doing this to hopefully at least last until I change my LBJ's in the spring. Then I'll be in a poisition to pop the axle out for a better fix then.

The boot held up great, but the clamps did not. I would use these again, but next time around I'll use traditional hose clamps.

These kits are pure trash!!!! We used to use them on high HP applications. They would just fall apart after time.

Been working for me just fine. I used 2 on my wife's old Jeep as well. Put around 120k on them with no issues either. None of which were HP applications though.
