CV boot question

When I had the LBJs off to replace them the inner CV boot kind of stretched back and a little cream colored grease leaked out. I think the metal clamps stretch out from getting pulled back from the weight of it drooping. I made a note to get new clamps but I drove around and now there is gray/green grease all over the bump stop area?

Also I can pull the drive shaft ("inside joint tulip" ?) out slightly where the boot start, is that normal? I mean the fat end of the boot doesn't move, the whole thing moves. Never really looked at it before.

If grease just leaked out in the relatively immediate past, just add more grease and reseal it with a clamp, if it is ripped, buy a new boot. You should be fine if it just happened, just get the baby regreased and seal ASAP or you will get debris in it and then you're looking at a whole new CV axle.
