I did the FJ+Daystar lift a few months ago. While I was changing my oil the other day I noticed a white milkshake looking mess under my car. I'm assuming this is from my CV boots. Do I need to remove the old grease or can I just add some in there? How much do I need to add? Do I just pump grease in until it starts to leak out before I put the new clamps on? I don't have much knowledge of this, but it sounds like this is a pretty simple solution. Thanks for any help!

I just replaced my CV's entirely. While you have the CVs pulled, I would replace the seal on the differential. Mine leaked after I was finished and I had to pull the CV again to replace the seal. IMO easier just to do them and not have to worry about it.

As long as the boots are in good shape, get in there and clean the inside of the boots out of contaminated grease. Put in CV grease of 4oz. each boot and re clamp with the hose clamps suggested on the threads you have looked at.

The clamps are a PITA. You must have the outside and inside of the outer lip of the boot totally free of grease and the shaft totally free of grease under the boot before beginning. Then you have to fight with the clamp to tighten up enough to hold. And that's even if you can find the right clamps for the job. It was a PITA and I'm just going to drive mine until it breaks and then replace the whole axle next time.
