I replaced my CV for the 1st time last night and HOPE I installed it right. Followed direction from this site that I found....only one problem.
The directions to me to install the inner boot as far as it would go in..then smack it with a crow bar so the snap ring would make a pop noise and snap into place. Well after an hr of smacking, no pop. The CV goes in and is tight, and I had to use a pry bar to get it out. Is this normal, am I missing something? There is also about an 1/8" gap between the edge of the inner CV and where it connects to.
On the outer CV There is also a noticible gap between the dust collector and the knuckle.
I was only able to install 1 last night, so I have 1 new and 1 very old one. While driving home last night I noticed an uneasy vibration/floating feeling at about 65. This is a very concern to me since I don't know what it coudl be.
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Thanks
Bob
